How big are dance floors at weddings?
Weddings are the most common reason people ask, and the same formula applies, with one tip: err slightly larger for weddings. Wedding crowds dance more than corporate or casual events, especially during peak songs and the first dance, which needs open space.
For a typical 150-guest wedding, a 15×15 floor (225 sq. ft.) is the sweet spot, which is why our 15×15 Wood Finish floor is such a popular wedding pick. For 200+ guests, step up to an 18×18 or 20×20.

A note on floor shape
Our floors come in two shape options, which matters when you’re fitting a space:
- Square floors (Checkerboard and LED): 12×12, 14×14, 16×16, 18×18, 20×20, 22×22. Great for open, central placement.
- Rectangular floors (Wood Finish): 12×15, 15×18, 18×21, and longer runs up to 13.5×30. Useful for narrower rooms, tents, or when you want a longer floor along one wall.
How to measure your space first
Before you lock in a size, confirm your venue can fit it:
- Measure the open area where the floor will go (length × width).
- Leave a buffer for walking room around the floor between tables.
